What a shame it has been left go so far. makes a great capture though. If only the walls could talk. I wonder if the car ferry was the one we used when my parents and I headed down that way. I can still remember going across on a ferry on the Murray River as it was something that I had never done before in my small life. Amazing what we remember when it leaves an impression. Thanking for sharing a part of our history. sandy

    Thanks Sandy, there are several car ferries in SA - Mannum, Walkers Flat, Cadell and Swan Reach to name a few. We had never been on this one before but I agree I have strong memories of the one at Hindmarsh Island near Victor Harbour where my parents moored their boat for a while before the building of the marina.

as you say, it doesn't look too bad; the roof, not very old, can be easily fixed; a nice capture with perfect framing and focus;

Great ! I like the frame of the picture. It is very appropriate for a poster. The tree on the right hand side, the green grass and blue sky in the background, all give a complete impression of this place and picture. It is noteworthy to mention the little path that leads to this house. Great job done at capturing that !

Nice comp0sition, lighting is pretty good, did you photo shop at all? What equipment did you use. All in all nice.

    Thanks so much, no editing on this and I used Nikon D3100 ISO400 F14 1/200s - can you tell me what is required to improve the image as normally if a 4 star rating is given you would offer constructive ideas as to how to improve (Refer FAQ for rating description)

    I think the only thing I would have done is to photo shop to sharpen the colors. Good except for that. But that is just my opinion. How do you like the camera you are using? I am looking into another one.

    Thanks for your advice, I do like my camera its the first camera I have had since I was a teenager (many years ago). I bought it with the lens kit and have since purchased a 50mm prime lens and a macro lens. Found that it is great as a learner camera but there are probably a lot better ones if you are more practiced photographer.

The perfect get away from it hide away! the yellow walls makes this cottage blend nicely into its surroundings, nice depth of field with the blue sky coming through, good foreground detail, great central framing

A neat look at this old building, I hope they can restore it. Good frame from under the big tree, focused and a sunny day view.

A fine view of a historic site. Your notes give added interest to this well composed image. I like the colors and the way it appears nestled back in the woods a bit. The corrugated metal roof is a real eye catcher.
