very nice capture of the pelican in flight. Not an easy thing to capture.

The exposure seems a bit dark so hard to see exact detials.

The cropping is perfect and allows room for the bird to fly into.

Your exposure time was perfect to get it in flight with this nice stop action.

It is a fine stop action capture of a Pelican in flight Mary. I am afraid your shot is under exposed, more lighting in as needed to get that eye clarity needed and his wings are dark loosing details.
A tighter crop was needed on left as well.
I understand the difficulties of shooting birds. You did fine on shutter speed, but ISO and white balance need to be adjusted.
Nice work despite my view.

A good in flight catch. You wonder how they can fly with such a large beak. Good focus and the tree adds to the scene. I would consider cropping off most of the dead space behind your airborne friend.

Looking better Mary, your pelican is well framed with better composition and leaving room for him to fly. Good job.

A nice image with good wing positions on the pelican. The colors are subdued, but natural. I would crop off some of the space behind the bird which would create the impression he is flying into the picture.
