He is very cute Mary. But yes your lighting and focus are off.
I would need camera techs to help. Perhaps turning into black and white would make it not so orangey. But the soft blur in him will still be there.
Upping shutter speed and keeping focused on his eyes should get you a nice shot next photo op.

Thanks Sange, yes my youngest daughter who rarely offers advice despite having a degree majoring in photography told me to up the speed and it was a bit like trying to capture birds as the movements are small but very quick. She is a Social Worker now so doesn't do much photography only as a hobby. Will definitely try some outside shots once the weather picks up. :) Mary

Cute little guy you have there and your title is perfect for the portrait. It may just be my old eyes but it appears a little soft on the focus. Still he's a real cutie and gave you a great pose. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks George, it is a little soft was trying to get a series of 3 expressions to put up in the hall with the other 3 grandsons but weren't quite good enough. I spoil all 4 boys which I have worked out is Nanna's job - I was so strict with my own 3 :)
