Great capture of the butterfly. Love the details in the wings. Good lighting, excellent composition, color, and sharp focus. I like the DOF and the nice background, like great angle and nice frame. Well done.

Mary,
A beautiful close up
of the Australian Admiral Butterfly looks similar to our Red Admiral but not exactly the same. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting with superb camera techniques with razor sharp focus allow us to see the most minute details of it's eyes, antennae & the patterns on it's wings.
The Red Admiral is a deeper red.

Thanks Susan, I originally thought it was a small monarch but then had a closer look we hardly ever get butterflies in our garden so was pleased :) Mary

A beautiful butterfly with the rust orange, black, and white in its wings. Gorgeous colors and its kind of surprising the little guy didn't fly off. Maybe the cold winter weather had an effect on it! ha He'd be fluttering around our place cause its HOT! Triple digits so staying inside out of the heat in the afternoons. A nice find for you while hanging out the wash and a beautiful photo.

Thanks David, I think the cold may have had something to do with it - stay in with the airconditioning - my mother always hated the heat and said in winter you can put more clothes on to keep warm but you can't keep taking them off in summer. :) Mary

Nice close up capture of this guy. Impressive is the sharp detail. Also, the foreground/background very nicely balanced. Very nice indeed. Cheers.

Thanks for the artist note. Lovely little butterfly. The colors contrast nicely. The b/g works very well and accents his body. Light good.
Framed well. Nice detail.

Very nice capture of this butterfly. I like the way you have his wings spread out fully and that you used the entire frame for the shot.

Nice and sharp, good bokeh (blur) in your background and great lighting :)

A very fine shot. I like the details you achieve throughout the butterfly.. The colors are very nice and the background is natural and very complimentary.
