it looks like your good friend was also amazingly beautiful and strong with dignified, almost majestic bearing. I don't know the breed, but you did a fantastic job showing him off with perfect facial details and wonderful brushwork throughout his long coat. I feel your loss having lost two very special senior dogs in the last year also. Just try to remember that after the current heartbreak, you'll enjoy the memory of his love for years to come.

I like the sky. The grass is a nice background for the dog, giving dimension. The dog stands out good. Nicely done.

WooHoo...I can finally give you what you deserve for this painting.This is truly in the realm of photo realism because it really looks like a photo from a distance.I think you may want to consider doing paintings specializing in family pets.Look how many All Time Best's that you have gotten for it.So I leave you with that to think about.Love you girl~

thanks Grandalf for the review but since you said this painting looks good and had nothing negative to say can I ask why you gave it a 4 rating? personally I could care less about the rating, rankings or much else when it comes to this site but I do care about the reasons why someone gave my work a lower score. I can only learn more about my craft through input. I care more about your opinion than ratings so please tell me what you saw wrong in this painting. I always appreciate feedback, positive is always nice to hear, but negative feedback with explanation's is how anyone can only learn.

Wow you did him justice. Wish I had a higher score to give you. I first thought that it was a photo. He is beautiful and you did a terrific job. The colors are great with nice contrast. Love the detail of his coat and face.

thank you for taking the time to write a review and saying such nice things about my work. I noticed you're new to the site so I won't give you a long lecture on giving someone's works such a low rating without giving a reason why. A rating of 5 is for work that you like but may see something minor in it that you may have liked changed. 4 wasn't real crazy about the art and would have preferred to see it done differently. 3 or below is what one would consider really poor piece of art and would suggest the artist do a lot different in it or not have post4ed it at all. Really the ratings mean very little to me anymore on this site. I have learned a lot since I've been on here, but have lost a lot of interest in things here. I hope you're able to enjoy this site as much as I once did. Don't worry too much about the ratings you give someone, just add what you would rather see done when you give someone a low rating, it normally really makes some people on here very angry. Just enjoy yourself, learn what you can, and don't take things real serious on here. I saw your first piece and love cardinals so keep posting and reviewing,. Welcome to the site and please always feel free to review my work and give me whatever rating you see fit. Oh what he was gazing at.. daddy was throwing the ball for him and made him set before he threw it. Normally Chaos is al over the place so we have been teaching him to be a bit more calm LOL.
