Wow, this is a gorgeous Art Piece of your "Baby" I love the scene that you put it in, the clouds bring out the blueish coloring in his black coat of fur;) It's a lovely painting that really does look like it was taken with a camera;) Excellent work, Diane you did a terrific justice in getting him looking perfectly like a photograph! Keep up the excellent work, Diane.. thank you for sharing it with us:)

What a beautiful painting of your baby. Excellent capturing of all the dark and the highlighted areas on his fur and in the grasses.
I think I would have backed this up a bit, so it isn't quite so centered. Nice work!

I did have it more of a 12 x 12 but that was too square and it showed more background than it did chaos and since I wanted him as the center of attention I brought him in closer. I am learning that all things don't need centered, seems like I've always done that in al my paintings but this particular one I wanted him centered, but thank you for your input and please feel free to always add any helpful tips like this in the future anything helps me become better at my art. Your tip is greatly appreciated

Beautiful dog. I love the pose and facial expressions, like the quality of digital creation, the brilliant grass, and excellent DOF.
Well done.

Love the great b/g with all the detail. Beautiful creation of your dog. Great job on the fur and I love the tongue hanging out. My niece had a dog named Chaos. He was something else :) Very nicely done!

isn't it a perfect name for some dogs and normally never fits their personality other than they are always into things LOL thank you for your kind review

It took me some time before I realized I was looking at digital art. Both the dog and the grass are extremely well done, and I like the photo realism. I also think the sky looks nice, and since it is not done in bright blue the dog is standing out so well.
Nice name you have given your dog. It indicates that this dog is up to a lot of fun, and the way you have pictured him he seems to be a nice tempered dog.
Your brush strikes are really good and you have managed to get both life, light and textures into the fur.
I do however think the composition could have been better. It is not at all bad, but the dog is a bit close to the bottom frame, and you could also have reduced the space on the right and added to the left. Still this indeed a well crafted digital painting.

thank you avmurray for such a kind review. someone else said the same thing about the placing of chaos in the frame. I had him at first toward the top and more to the left and not centered but it took away from him as the main focus and since I wanted the painting to be of my dog and not the scenery that's why I centered him the way I did and placed him like that. I normally never paint scenery when I paint animals and just use a basic color background, but for him, nothing like that seemed to work so I had to use just a slight scenery for the background but I still wanted my dog as the main focus. thank you for your input it is always helpful. You are too kind with your review and it means a lot

You are more than welcome Lynnkah, and thank you for the extra information about your work. I am sure it is true when you say that nothing but centered really worked, but I still think Chaos is a bit close to the bottom frame.

thank you my friend. I have been wanting to do a painting of him but have had other people wanting paintings of their animals so since I've caught up pretty much I decided it was time for me to paint my big baby, this is the only time I think I've ever seen him set that perfectly normally he's all over the place playing with his car tire LOL
thanks again Sue

chaos is a fantastic dog and well minded to a degree, but when I take him for a walk if he sees a group of people he drags me instead of me walking him. He loves attention and to him a group of people means play to him LOL
thank you Doris for a wonderful review and telling me about your dog

thank you Mick. I never knew the first thing about digital art until a few years ago. Rarely even went on the computer, but now I'm addicted. I'm attempting to learn 3D animation now and have done a couple of short videos with some characters that I have designed but most of my programs are really low end. Painting animals however have always been something I've enjoyed and with computer programs its amazing what you can accomplish. Twisted brush is the only program I use for painting, you can download a copy of it for free, you ought to give it a try, it's a lot of fun
thank you again Mick

To make it a more integrated image, I would suggest stronger cast shadows to the right of the dog to make him more a part of the landscape. Otherwise, itīs lovely! If I were Chaos I would be proud of it!

thank you Oliver. I thought the shadows were off also but couldn't put my finger on where it was off until you just explained it so easily. Thank you so much for your help. It normally always takes a fresh pair of eyes to see what someone has missed. Please keep up this type of review it is a huge help
