A very fine composition with excellent colors and great eye contact. He certainly is not the cowering sort.

I don't know, he looks like a teacher, a very stern teach I once had! I'd back up too. Nice shot, great sharp detail. Love that eye! Cheers, JR

Now you mention it bit like my Maths teacher in high school always gave me the evil eye as well - thanks so much for your comments :) Mary

Look at you! SWEEEEET Focus on that eye, fantabulous DOF and great placement within the frame.
This is a fine capture Mary!
Whatever your settings were, keep doing this.
Fine work!

Nice photo of this emu eye to eye with you. It does sort of look like its got an evil eye as it stares at you. ha Probably wondering if it can bluff you and sounds like it was successful. lol Good shot Mary with sharp feather and eye detail. Strange looking birds to those of us who never see them. Thanks for sharing ol evil eye with us.

I love this photo but hate the fear you had to experience! Everything is so clear even down to eyes and individual feather. The background is blurred emphasizing the emu.

I lessened your score due to not including f-stops, shutter, speed, and ISO. I need to learn from you! LOL. I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!!

Peace,
Brenda

A very good close up view on this bird that I think grab about anything they can see. Sharp focus, good frame and exposure to show the very colorful eye and coat of feathers.

Great close up of the lovely emu - I agree they do look as if they could be evil and vicious! The softened background makes a perfect frame. I like the pose you caught here.

Lighting and focus very good showing excellent clarity. Very good composition. Suzanne

I have a damaged lens because this emu poked it. I think they're still beautiful. You've captured this well, displaying the eye and the the prominent texture of the feathers. Lighting, angle, focus and technical skills, high five. A pleasure to view.

Mary, a great catch. You caught this fellow really sharp where it counts on the eye...and kapow, he's looking right at me and that engages the viewer with your image. When the eye is sharp all other sins are forgiven.

I also like the bokeh on a slant adds dynamic feel. I know you are simply dying for constructive criticism...have nothing to add.

Chirp chirp (what sound do they make, I know it's not chirp chirp)

Thanks Olga, definitely not a chirp more a drumming noise very deep which you don't hear very often. Yes I like constructive criticism but love it when I have achieved the level to get a thumbs up :) Mary
