Wow, what a capture, Eileen. What makes this shot superb besides the perfect clarity, detail and technical excellence, is the wonderful artistic nature of the. Those angles created by the legs and head position are just so elegant. Brings this shot up and beyond. A true work of art. Congratulations, my friend.

Oh my goodness! This shot is perfect -- on many levels!
The egret is in perfect focus! Your bokeh is remarkable.
The stance of the bird adds so much interest to this photograph! The eye has the opportunity of following so many angles!
Truly lovely.

Simply stunning artistry here. The soul of this image is felt. I'm at a loss Eileen, you are the only Avian Photographer that I am aware of who can actually capture soul, an artist who goes deeper than the five senses and hits us at the 6th.
Many can produce acceptable and technically accurate images of birds however to capture an image of a bird that communicates with viewers is something that you seem to be very adept at doing, and this image is a perfect example. This image communicates with us...you captured it and through your post production have catapulted it into the 6th sense...that OH WOW area. We get caught up with the life of this Egret, with his behaviour. This kind of photograph takes more than camera know how and technique ...it takes knowledge, experience and time.
There is a site called 1X.com. In order to get an image posted it has to pass judges and only then will it be shown. I would encourage you to join the ranks of those few elite photographers who grace those pages.

But you captured him in a different profile than most. Thanks for the artist note. Nice attention to detail, from his wispy feathers to the soft downy ones. Framed well with his main body off centered. Nice contrast against the black reeds.

A cute pose, got an itch? Like the dark background, sharp focus, frame and exposure to show the details on this pretty one.

Excellent work, Eileen! I like how you made the background darker so that the white from the Egret really stands out:) The details are sharp, clear, well lite and a terrific exposure! I love the look on his face, he looks like he's upset about something;) I've enjoyed seeing this photo, thank you for sharing it with us! -Cindy
