Nice colours, I loved the bird impressions on the face, which way joining and same time protecting the food. Like the smudge background make your eyes focus on the bird and the bird activity.

Mary, this photo is so charming. You caught this fellow in the midst of his snack and he's giving you that "can I help you with something" look in his eye.
Pin sharp, his head and eye catch our attention instantly and of course the whole colour harmony of the image is supportive of each other. The red head, the red pomegranite, the reddish hues on his body. I like the dof you used and blurred that background yet still we see his environment and I'm thrilled not to see a cage!
Your point of view, shooting from above and looking down gives him that fragile humble feel....a feeling that we need to protect him and best of all he has posed for you, caught your eye and that way we too connect with the beauty of life around us....all thanks to your photo technique.
