Don't know if it is the filter you have used but the focus is not sharp and your crop has gone a little too tight on the bottom.
Love the pov this is taken from and it looks like an interesting bird to capture.

Thank you for taking the time to comment! The focus wasn't sharp to begin with and I used the filter to try and "rescue" it by making it "artsy". I appreciate your remarks.

Can't tell for sure but it looks like a male rufous hummingbird with its bright red neck feathers. Looks like its going to land on your camera lens. Always fun to get photos of these tiny birds and even though its kind of soft you did a nice job on the edits to enhance this. Good work.

This is just too cool, coming in straight at you.
I can't really tell the artistic filter you used. I would have liked to see this with Topaz Adjust Winter used, it tends to sharpen and brighten at the same time.
Still, I love the composition :)

Thank you, Snowpaw! I've never used Topaz filters but I've noticed that many do. Guess I should give them a try.

They come with a 30 day trial, would be worth it to play around. I would recommend starting with Adjust5. Details and Clarity are nice too, just Adjust5 really makes pics pop :)

Thank you!

What an AWESOME image! She's lookin' just like a big old fighter 'coming in hot' with her gear down and her wings splayed out! SUPER COOL!

Wow! Thank you, Sean, for your generous score and comments! It does kind of remind me of photos of fighter jets landing on a carrier.

You're very welcome! :)

Wow. How I the world did you manage this? It's just wonderful. Your edits are great. I never would have though it if I had not read the notes. It's just beautiful.

This guy could use a bit of sharper focus! I do they they are fassssst movers though!
It is a delightful POV... as usually people photograph hummers from the side.

Thank you, Snowblaze. Could be sharper? Absolutely...lol. I usually photograph from the side...it's much easier. Thanks again!

It is not often we see this kind of bird from this angle, and the viewer get the feeling it is heading right at you. It is nice with the all neutral background, and the bird is standing out well against it.
I do however feel that your focus could have been sharper, and then I am not talking about the wings. The loss of details is probably more due to a slight under exposure though, so I think the softness is a combination of the two.
I also think the cropping is a tad tight at the bottom, but you could also have kept a bit more room at the top. I really like the POV here, but the photo itself needs a few adjustments.
