This is really cool. How amazing the design within this flower and the colors. The fly is so amazing in all of it's detail, color, transparency of the wings. I know I've said amazing a lot, but truly, it is.

The things us photographers are willing to do in order to get a shot. I hope you were wearing nose plugs at least lol. I love the clarity and depth you captured. Overall great composition. Nice full frame. Well done:o)

Lol, not a plant you would want in your garden Fred! A wonderful shot of the green fly, there are so many of those this year. The flower is actually quite pretty with it's red and yellow stripes, hare to believe something so pretty could smell so bad! Excellent focus, exposure, dof and framing;)

Recently we had a Corpse flower bloom near here. I posted a picture. This one shares the smell and pollinators with the Corpse (Amorphophallus titanium) but not the size, the Corpse is 70 inches tall. Great close-up of this "rear-end" pretender! Thanks for sharing Fred.

Excellent capture and wonderful artist's notes to explain it all. I grew one of this plants and I can vouch for the fact that they do smell like rotting flesh. Your focus of the subject is amazing, so crisp and detailed. Like the textures of the blossom and the lighting reflecting off the back of the shiny blow fly. Good initial impact, well balanced and nicely framed. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. What super details in this presentation. I almost got the impression of a finger print that was used for the background.

Thanks for sharing it.
