Sounds just like the kind of plant I don't want in my flower garden! haha Excellent shot of this green fly with red eyes doing its thing to pollinate. Nature is amazing with such a variety of flowering plants and their adaptations. Excellent photo Mara and thanks for sharing it.

Nice fly. ...as far as flies go.

Very crisp focus, good placement in the frame. His wings are superb -- but the 'shine" off the top of his body is an especially good highlight.

Fred this is a very sharp macro with loads of detail and interest. The lines offered by the stapilia are very interesting and offer a neat composition for this fly to take refuge in. Good job on catching the light just right to capture that translucent color on the fly's body. Those eyes are well depicted. Nice work. Kathy

WOW, I wish I had a 6 left - fantastic capture and information , this bloom almost looks like an artistic created lamp - I never saw this one even having lived in north Africa - stunning capture, super angle, the visitor I splendid in focus contrast and lighting , pin sharp in details, one of these precious color flies I one had a friendship with ( a beautiful life story) - this bloom is extraordinary in structure and your shot is pin sharp showing the stunning textures of the petals as well as the center structure, excellent picture, fantastic angle and position, a well defined image, super presentation, thanks for sharing

A beautiful picture of this Iridescent Green Blow Fly doing it's work in the Beautiful & foul smelling flower. The details on the fly are amazing & pin sharp. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting with superb camera techniques with sharp focus.
