Excellent work, superb lighting and a flesh like softness especially from the sepia overtone in the photo of the work. Often I see men with too many sharp angles, even though a good physical specimen, you have kept it from looking like he is airbrushed metal! That you have drawn only a partial view was excellent ! Great command tonal range and to me the visual bonuses are the veins and the elastic waist bank-lovely work! jean

Nice Artwork... I could never attempt to draw anything close to this. Nice placement. Nice use of light simulation.

Molly, you are an angel. Do you have a blending stub. It works miracles. I remember when I found the whole concept. It changed my drawing 100%. Thank you for your amazing review.

I told you...
You can be a high paying charcoal pencil illustrator...
Very nice rendition depicting the highlighted bulges & the soft shadows formed depending on the mass of the protruding muscles.
Excellent lighting & framing.
I think we have to be consistent on giving the body outlines some highlighting especially from the shoulder down to the wrist part so as to give it that 3 dimensional effect you had demonstrated near the biceps.
Thanks for sharing.

Dear Dick. Please explain. I don't know if you think that I accomplished what you requested, or if you thought that is something I should have done. I would really love to know. I thank you so much for being so honest with your review. I want to hear from you.

You see that highlight in his outer biceps? That's should be the desired effect so that he seems to be away from that wall. Lind, I think you need a very thin eraser to continue that effect...
Got a facebook acct? I can show you which part...

Or that lighting effect between his arm & his waist--that gives a 3D effect that he is far from that shaded wall...

I would say he picked the right artist to do the drawing. The shading and shadows are perfectly manipulated to give tremendous definition and structure to the male specimen. The section of the body chosen to draw is just enough to help us see the entire man as a perfect physical specimen. Excellent work.

I always want my drawings to be, not from the portrait perspective, but from an totally unexpected angle. Off center, and spiritual. If I can achieve that, than I have accomplished my goal. Thank you for your very wonderful review.

Awesome drawing! Your pencil work challenges the best black and white photographs that I've seen. This one is no exception. Great use of light and shadow ans your blending is spectacular!

Dear Jan, the shadow, and the light, is all there is. That is why I stay with pencil. Color, although is beautiful, distracts from the emotion of the artwork. Spirit must be a part of my work. If not, then why do it. Thank you for your wonderful review.
