Cleo this has such a magical and mystical quality about it .
It belongs in a Disney movie.
I love the color and shimmer of the fish with the extreme beauty of the deep eyes of the mermaid. Very artistic and beautifully created.

This is lovely Cleo. It has such a magical quality to it. I like the light and the subtle glowing appearance to the fish and the mermaid. Her eyes are very lifelike. The fish is adorable and I especially like how you were able to create sparkles in the water and around the fish.

Wonderful digital painting of this mermaid making eye contact with this very intriguing fish! The mermaid eyes are really standing out in this scene, she is well created and I like that I can see her hair, the fish is almost glowing and I like the story being told here, in the story I recall, the mermaid wanted to become human, perhaps she is looking to the fish for advise on how to make that happen. Very well created , arranged and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

that is a lovely dream type scenario. great in the ways you made and pulled this one together. the lion fish is one of natures wonderments and hoping mermaids are true also. is like mother nature nature protecting the small creature from any harm.

A beautiful painting. The contrast between the ghostlike face and the little fish is fantastic. I love the eyes and the beautiful colors. Best of luck in the contest.

I like how this mermaid appears to be made of water as though her essence is liquid and flowing with the tide. Your fish reminds me of a lion fish with its mane like fins around the body.

Oh how very cool this is Cleo. Just a stunning work of art.

I love the enigmatic figure on the right which has a wonderful form that looks as if it could be changing all the time.

Not sure how you put a digital image on a piece of canvas but it definitely would be a great image hanging on a wall.

Thank your for the treat of reviving this one Cleo ~ Steve

You mad my Sunday golden! :o) :o) :o)
Any digital paintings, even photos can be put on canvas.
There are special companies who do that, but the are expensive.

There certainly are,Cleo!
And some of them are way too 'dark and weird' to fit easily into the 'fairy tale' classification!
( See my ballpoint pen drawing '1983,a Merman's Dream' that I posted last year! )
This one that you've presented us with has a Brighter and More Innocent kind of a tone though!
'Good Show',my friend!

Close encounter of the Little Mermaid & the fluffy fish.
Interesting initial impact.
Great story telling factor..
Harmonious colors.
Why is her lips so pale & hazy?
It could have added a red glow on this bluish overtone.
Thanks for sharing.
Good luck!

Thank you very much. I appreciate your kind review and your wishes very much.
To answer your question: This is a book illustration. Red lips would take attention from the fish and the eyes of the mermaid [red always draws the eyes]. The eye contact between mermaid and fish is the center of attention. It is supposed to tell the story. It is communication between them. A red spot there would also damage the balance of the painting, because it would be too far of to the right. I hope this answered your question.
