not really..but without the title name and what ur trying to imply..the mage itself is an eye catcher..even though in my opinion the mermaid doesnt represent any illustration that i have seen in the past. so i guess u can count this one to original. course i kinda like the female style lines of a mermaid than a blue green blob with eye..wink. the fish is cool. the body form is great. the blend of color is great. the shading is great. the depth is great. the detail is great. nicely balanced image that is eye appealing to the viewer. creative and great job overall.

Thank you very much for your kind and attentive and very encouraging review. I did not intend to present any illustration of the past. It is for a story I have written. Its loosely based on a story from 1001 Night, but when I tell about Everyone will know, who I am. Oh I hate those blind contests! :O)

My favorite part of this --- is the little fish... the attention on the work is placed on him, as is the mermaid's vision.

This is very pretty and would be delightful in any room of the house in a frame, love the shade of blue you have used and the gold of the fish gives a great contrast, I like this very much
