this is beautiful, I love that the focus is so good you can see the tiny hairs on the leaves, great colour and clarity, very well framed, stands out well against the blurred background, good luck in the contest.

you must have a miniature variety of black eyed susan to find such a small opening bud; excellent lighting and amazing sharp focus;

Yeah, I've noticed there are some varieties that are about two inches diameter, but those are fully bloomed flowers already.
These buds are even smaller now, maybe just 1/4 inch, maybe because it is the end of their blooming season. thanks for the time to review.

This wee bud jumps out at us and it's all in the focal points.
You have your major focus on the foreground "hairy" spindly leaves and what a draw that is on the eye, I'm captivated by the detail. The yellow further calls on our eyes and the soft blur of the center stills us.
Your dof is well used and with a 5.6 I would expect a bit more detail but this is quite perfect. The background echoes another existence of flower but it is done in subtlety and works to support the main bud.
This is well framed, a bit more of a nip at the left would not have hurt to balance left to right but that is subjective.
Rich in colour, well taken, esthetically pleasing in softness and fragile feel, technically strong in soft light...it looks like it could be a winner to me!

Hello
This is very nice. I like the subdued background a lot. The bloom itself is really pretty. The colors are sharp and colors bright.
Your yellow in here is just great. Yellow is t times such a hard color to work. But you have it perfect.
I like the sharp focus on the green leaves. Each spike stands out sharp and clear.
This is really well done.
