Excellent notes to accompany your lovely Mr.& Mrs Lion who both look so content together.
I know lions are fierce wild animals but these ones look soft and friendly with kind eyes that bely their real predatory nature.
Very nice pastel drawing with realistic features and great attention to detail.

Ohhh.. I know, the same issue to going on with the wolves in Yellowstone. I don't blame the farmers or ranchers - they are only trying to make a living. I don't blame the lions - they are only doing what lions do. Regardless - I'm very saddened by the declines in various species of mammals and insects.

I digress (sorry); this is a wonderfully created pastel to bring both tribute and recognition to the lions. Nice detail, scale, texture, colors and overall presentation. Kathy

Using the chalk pastels you have produced wonderful textures. The grass and sky are subtle and really frame the main subjects. The male lion has a luscious, full mane. The lioness has more feminine features. Great whiskers on both too.

Lovely animals. Great composition and technique. Lovely soft colors and nice shading. Nice texture in fur. The eyes are very expressive. I hope that they can be saved, it would be a big crime to lose such beautiful animals
