I have never heard of velour paper but it sounds like it has texture, sort of rough grained? Regardless, this work has magic in its blendings. Very lovely and clearly done with love! A big congratulations is sent your way!

Thanks so much for your very nice review. The velour paper is like velvet, so not so rough on your fingers when you blend it! Suzanne

There is only one art paper vender here in this city of 2 1/2 million people and I know all the paper they have, and they donīt stock it. I guess itīs available online... sure hope so as I want to try it! You got such a nice effect!

WOW I Wish I had a 6lefft , this image IS LOVE, these faces are divine seems they re coming right from heaven , fantastic composition, I love the way you placed both side by side as a real couple soul connected in perfect union - a striking work - fantastic detail work on their fur and faces . Excellent way to create the background with simple grass and sky , a wonderful painting and beautiful contest entry , thanks for sharing and all the best for the contest

Very soft and lovely drawing. I like (really!) the texture of their fur. That is a highlight in this work.

Nice background and grass as well.

Really like the blue back ground for contrast in this marvelous portrait of the couple. Soothing facial expressions. Awesome hand work for detail and perspective. Very nice work

Simply beautiful initial impact and presentation of subject. The colors are nice, great lighting, focus, proportions and composition. Nice cropping. I like the facial expressions; and the grass adds a nice touch.

Hello,

First of all, this is my first review on fanart, and honestly I don't know what I'm going to say yet, or even how to go about it, but I believe in a full commentary and criticism in a positive way when neccessary.

However, I have no criticisms to make :-).

This is a lovely piece of work, you've managed to create an image representing animal curiosity and bemusement, I don't know if that was intentional or not. Also, both lions have their own personality, Male lion seems more open and smiley (if a lion can be smiley) whilst the female seems a little fed up with being watched (again don't know if this was the intention.

The only thing that is a little distracting is that I feel the male head is slightly off centre, that may just be the perspective though, as I think he is supposed to be looking to one side or no? in which case it goes someway to explaining it, but the perspective is still slightly off to my eye... But hey, I can't draw/paint etc nearly as well as this, so who am I to criticise, and I don't think it really harms the artwork as a whole, it is only when I look at it really closely.

Also, the backgorund is simple but fits the image perfectly, adding to the calm nature of the piece... I feel like I've spoken too much now, so again, good work.

Many thanks for your in depth review and welcome to the FanArt world. Do you paint or are you a photographer, as photographers often see a painting from a different perspective. Anyway, thank you for taking time. Suzanne

I dabble, and scrawl and hope something lifelike comes out... No, I draw sometimes and create work using MSpaint. I've worked as a journalistic photographer but still, I am not an artist really, and do not claim to be.

This is an extremely good image of these two lions. The eyes are giving me an intense stare that I would normally look for in a photograph. Excellent work.

Beautiful image. Great job capturing the emotion in the eyes and allowing the faces to take the focus of the piece. Wonderful background colors also!
