Yes, really these eyes speak. They are expressing the innate desire of the freedom and the open prairies. Poor lion. Excellent shot.

This is an amazing caption. I had different feelings while looking at this picture. On one hand, it gives me a feeling of hope that this lion will find a better place to live. And on the other hand, it gives me a feeling of dejection. I can feel the element of dejection into the eyes of this creature. Its a very nice experience to have this sort of feelings.

Agree with your notes, I hope they are able to improve on the living area for this beautiful animal. The expression melts your heart. Good frame and well presented. The overall look seems a bit washed out, however, still tells your story.

Thanks George yes Beny has offered to edit it for me not sure if light was reflecting off something causing washed out but posted as the eyes were so great. Will reload if Beny can fix ☺

I'm sure he is dreaming of freedom. Hate to see them in cages and the cage free zoos are so much better. They don't belong in captivity but of course none of us would get to see these wonderful animals without the zoos. Love the eyes in this big cat and the dream like expression he has. Good photo and thanks for sharing it.

A very intriguing image with the entire frame softly rendered with muted colors except for the eyes. The composition/cropping is excellent, the colors are fine and the eyes are exceptional.

Does he really look so sad or do we imagine how we would feel in his place. Very good focus and framing.

Indeed the sense of longing is palatable. Those eyes. It is so wrong to keep these beautiful guys caged up. Keep telling this story, it's important. Cheers, JR
