Great work! I'm still having a hardtime understanding just what "Pop Art" is.. That's sad, I know but I just don't understand it;) I do thank this looks like something that did come out of the 60's. Excellent contest entry.. I think that you helped me understand "Pop Art" better;) I wish you the best in the contest, thank you for sharing plus thank you for explaining so much about it!-Cindy

I thank you for your time and nice review. I do appreciate your positive feedback. Have a look at Andy Warhol's works. You will get a fair idea pf the 50's and 60's pop are culture!

I really like the colors you chose and the subject. They work really well together. I am a bit distracted and thrown off by the missing leg. It seems as though Marilyn's left leg is missing from part of the image (right side of the image). The bottom of the leg goes into the dress, then looks like it is cut out from where it would normally show up going higher into the dress. If I'm wrong, I apologize the incorrect viewing. This really has a nice pop-art look and is a good attention grabber image. It has good initial impact. Good luck in the contest.

I will have a close look on the points raised by you. Frankly it has escaped my notice. Thank you so much for taking the time to review this. Much appreciated.

PS: I just checked the image. Since this is POP art like Andy Warohl's style (cut out style) it looks like it. The leg is very much there covered by the skirt!:):):) It is not well defined like in a normal painting! I thank for taking time and commenting. I have taken note of it. Much appreciated.

very nice expressive piece...there was a gigantic MM statue placed along michigan ave in chicago a while ago and this image is pretty to true to form and reminds me of the larger one...nice find and thanks for sharing

OMG! Great tribute! When the I saw in the list I said: Marilyn! Love the yellow dress and the facial expression, like the corporal language and great attention to details, like nice texture and sharp focus. The background is superb. Well done. Really an awesome representation.
Luck

This is a fantastic, iconic image of a truly beautiful and talented woman... an American original! a superstar of the first order! I like everything about this creative work and its created context... that is, except for one thing. Namely, what did you do to her hair? In my humble opinion I think you almost ruined the charm of Marilyn by doing this. I mean it looks blocked off, pasted on and phony in every sense of the word. In other words, you showed sensitivity to every part of the image except for making the hair look like a collection of geometrically blocked off forms with nothing to indicate that it might be as charming as the rest of her body is. Oh well, I´m not perfect either :)

:):) I checked out Andy's several images. And I found colour blocks. So I presumed that that detailing should be kept out and only the 'essence' of the 60's image to be shown. Anyway , now that you happen to mention it, I will try to do something. Thanks very much for your nice review and rating. I appreciate it.

PS: I have improved upon the earlier one and brought her hair back!:):) She is as devastating as ever!:):)Thanks very much for your suggestion.
