I really like this as for me it is as if they built this over 3 periods in architecture. The 3 groups of 3 windows are so different in the styles and design, this is a real interesting image, I see this also as a B&W. Real unique and a great eye to have captured it. dave :)

Thanks Dave, I considered b&w but love the colour of the bricks - have some others of a different building might play around and convert. :) Mary

Good detail in the architecture of this old building. The colour and design has withstood time. I remember when it was a mental institution. We still really need it to help those not so fortunate. But time doesn't stand still.
Thanks for the memories *Julie

This IS a beautiful photograph... of beautiful windows. One can only imagine the internal torment that went on behind the glass.

This has great focus and color.

A testament to the long history of dealing with mental illness. In this country we just seem to throw them out onto the streets or put them in jail, a tremendous failing. Anyway this architectural shot is fascinating in that the three stories each have three windows. The details are outstanding and the colors are perfect.

Thanks Mike yes unfortunately our country has followed the lead of overseas and most with mental illness are out on the street or cared for by families. They have a minimum no of care units available at Glenside for very severely impaired. We still have a long way to go to realising that unseen illness is as important as those with visible symptoms.

It is so good to see old buildings refurbished and still being used. A very good architectural view, focus and frame. Like it.

Thanks Doris, some of the buildings are being used by the South Australian Film Corporation - the Rolling Stones were here last week and used them for rehearsals for their outdoor concert.

Yes they are different and unique in their style. I love the brick and stone work in this old building. Hopefully they can keep it restored as it is a beautiful building. Each layer looks like it was designed by a different architect. Good one Mary and thanks for sharing it.
