Really lovely shot of an orchid. The veins are so prominent which suggests that the clarity is excellent. Nice deep color and excellent background. Well framed and presented.

Your flower work is always so creative and photographically skillful. This is truly a beautiful blossom, with such intricate detail in the center. I love the delicate patterns in the petals. Would take a very fine brush to even begin to duplicate such awesome beauty. Excellent.

Well focused with appropriate DOF for proper viewing. I find the orchids difficult to shoot and maintain consistent definition - but you have achieved a well defined image with detailed sharpness throughout.

Artistic Elements:

Nice perspective that allows that head on view with great presentation afforded by the dark background. Contrast and position in the frame are both attractive and serve the subject well. Nice work. Kathy

Honest, traditional photography, unpretentious and well seen and very well taken.

Composed with a dynamic pop into the canvas coming at us from the side and the focal point and sharpness being on the tip of the orchid and in the photographic hot spot on the canvas.

Technical aspects : shot in good ambient light renders a comfortable image without harshness of shadows, sharp as a tack, background does not vie for attention and supports the overall image.
Your marginal space is perfect to bring us up close and personal to these two beauties.

A very beautiful image to study with colours that entice and veins within the petals well shown.

Beauty is all around us, but it takes a good photographer to see it and bring it to the world. Thank you.

I notice that you put up contest "traditional photographs" and I can understand why. You take strong images. Sometimes I think we overdo filters and take away from natural beauty. Your shots remind me of pure photography. (big smile)....no way, I love ya more times two!

You're so sweet! I just can't thank you enough. Are you still in Asia? I don't have the luxury of time to create an image. I only have time to click and do minor editing. I marveled with what is natural and simple things in life, even as a child. I am pretty lousy with mixed media.

Yes, we have lived in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand for 12 years although we are both Canadians from Toronto. We enjoy the Asian way of life. Let me know when you are coming over and we will get together....DON'T LAUGH...I've already met two fellow FAR members face to face, and that is very exciting! Imagine there is a human being, skin and bones on the receiving or sending part of this note....stay well. Nice to have this friendship with you.
