One of the most perfect pictures I have seen. How in the world did you catch this bird on this branch with the apples? Amazing. All works together to give that once in a life time moment.

A most appealing and dramatic post. It is warmhearted and a thrill to find and photograph.

It's the diagonal placement of the main focal point that brings a sense of excitement. He looks like he's ready to take off after spotting you! You caught it at the exact special moment.

I know you to be a purist photographer and this rendition proves it further for it is a well taken shot kept natural.

To draw our eye in even further you could have used a 10% gradient around the edges or a tremendously soft vignette and I think that would have made it pop further.

Sharp, well exposed it is evident that you are best friends with your camera as this has been well calibrated.

A splendiferous shot ! I love it.

Thank you so much for this encouraging words of affirmation. It balanced the below five rating that I received from this image. Awesome review.

Some reviewers will dock marks for compositional style which I feel is totally wrong (for the most part). Composition is an artistic tool and as such artistry of the photographer ought to be honored. Suggestions can be nuanced but marks ought not to be docked. It is really in the technical where we ought to dock marks, such as telling photographers "your image is sharp" when it really isn't. Anyhow, that is my opinion only, obviously not everyone thinks this way.

I received a comment in relation to compliance with the rule of third. I think, this is in compliance. Maybe, that low rating was more of a personal attack, rather than an objective review. lol ! Thanks. Time to thaw that huge turkey.

Fabulous photo of this blue bird. The focus is so pin sharp on your subject and the fruit. What lens and setting did you use. The blurred background makes the subject just pop with such details shown in his feathers. Good luck with the contest. This is sure a contender.

You made my day with this exceptional rating. This is only a manual setting. Thank you so much.

My first thought was I like the compositional elements, meaning bird, apple and then the greens, blues and reds, making for a nice color combination..
I was also thinking that he is sitting to much on the center line of the image. I would have been better in my way of thinking if his head and eye were sitting on one of the intersection of the rules of thirds. Like move him down and over to the right, to me that would have made for a more interesting image and composition.
