Look out deck. It might get a few holes in it. I really have never seen a woodpecker before. They are quite pretty. Good capture. How close did you have to get to him to get your picture? The focus is good and the blurred background helps the bird pop.

How delightful to have nature visit us and as annoying as some people say they are I love to hear the woodpecker. You have captured a most lovely image with the blessed light on its breast and face. Its contrast with the shadow on the wood make it stand out and the composition is perfect.

I love seeing these handsome little guys around the house, too! This make such a nice composition w/ its vertical, diagonal & horizontal lines all leading to the bird. Pretty, blurred background, too! Nice work!
