I think this Cardinal is even more lovely than the one in the Christmas photo, Probably because we can see the bird so close and then especially the clarity and sharpness of the eye. It is difficult to get it any better with a SOOC shot. I really like the light green background as well with the lovely textures.
Your photo is pin sharp showing clear and well defined details all over and the exposure is just perfect.
I also think the photo is well framed and the bird has got a good position within the frame. Really lovely bird shot and so well taken. I wish you luck with the contest.

I actually like it straight out of camera the focus is sharp and the dof blurring background great. The colour of the bird is very vibrant.

Pin sharp details, even the facial expression. I like the prominence of contrasting colors, even against its green background. Vivid textures of the plumage. Very strong technical expertise, great angle, focus, and lighting and exposure. A beauty to behold. Cyber six!
