very nice shot of the Ahwahnee. I have been there several times. I like the wind swept hill behind the lodge. It looks like the snow was blowing. for some reason the intro for this has Yellowstone instead of Yosemite.

Don't you just love being in Yosemite. The mood in the morning is so different from the mood at evening. It is remarkable.

This is beautiful. I like those gentle lights on those stoned wall. The snowy mountain in the background looks majestic. I like the mysterious effect of the fogs. Great angle, focus, lighting, and strong technical skills. A joy to view.

Thanks. Weekend rates in summer for this motel are $359/night. They suggest reservation a year ahead. Yikes!

Very nice! I like the way you framed this, like you said the angles compliment each other well and the DOF is awesome, motel in the fore front, the trees then the mountains, almost gives it a 3d effect. Nice work!

Thank you. When I shot this there was a cold fog starting to set in. The warm lights of the motel seemed so inviting.

I want to compliment you on your narrative, as well as this image. An informative and interesting explanation of why you chose this image. The photograph is nicely rendered, well composed, with good depth of field. The natural rock siding is man's attempt to be consistent with nature. I like the window lights, a tricky exposure to get this effect. The soft, misty look clouding the trees, and the magnificent mountain stirs the senses. A strong contender, I think. Good luck in the contest.
