The subject is bold, colorful and well focused. The black background enhances the yellow and makes it pop. The shapes are interesting i.e cirle trangles, oblong shapes. The hint of purple in the background is well presented and adds interest and variety. I am ok with the tight cropping.

Fill the frame, as the say. The tight crop works very well on this image.

The focus is tack sharp and indeed the texture is wonderful.

Yellow on black is the sharpest contrast for most eyes, so this just pops.

I like the subtle purple colors in the background. Yellow/purple are complementary colors and always do well together.
