the eyes seem to say it all here; they are very expressive. the dirt in the background keep it natural and add to the dimension. he's well centered and the focus is sharp. nice shot.

How sad. You've captured Karta's feeling of sadness in this lovely portrait. I like how you filled the frame and the pose you caught here.

Lighting and focus very good showing great detail. Very nice composition. Suzanne

story informative & heartbreaking /so with your shot you have captured the emotion that animals mourn just like people ,orangutang's are one of the animals from the "monkey world " they are smart cute & very intelligent ,its a shame they are in zoos but these days I think they are safer there ,
focus subject detail frame light all very good thank you & happy new year

An outstanding shot. The perspective makes the most of her beautiful eyes. Fine colors and artful cropping makes it a joy to behold and a fine way to start off the new year. Best Wishes.

This is a wonderful evocative image. To me, I see the sadness and sense of loss but also pride in what has been endured.
I really like the composition, really unique but natural.

WOW Thanks so much Paula, unfortunately this was the sixth baby she has lost (2 stillborn and 4 within a few days of birth) so unsure if they will try and breed from her again. She would make a wonderful mother as she likes to relate to toddlers when they visit and she looks as though she is talking to them through the glass.

So sad, I hope they can have another try at a new baby. You can see the sadness in the eyes. Good close up, focus and frame all well done.

A great initial impact. Nice interesting subject. Excellent POV & DOF...Harmonious colors. Impressive lighting, focusing & framing.
Great story telling factor as sadness is painted all over Karta's face...
