Nice close up with great eye clarity Mary. Focus is fab and details are crisp. Crop is a wee bit tight up top, but still a fine shot!😉

Given you circumstances, I think this is a lovely composition. The focus on the face is perfect and even his fur looks like I could reach out and touch it. Look forward to more images.

Typical kids! haha Always trying to escape from mom and dad cause trouble. I've seen these huge rodents before on TV specials but have never seen them in zoos, at least that I remember. Head kind of reminds me of a kangaroo but the rest of them looks nothing like a kangaroo. Nice shot of this one and hopefully you'll get some photos of the kids. ha

Thanks David, I think he looks a bit of a cross between kangaroo and hare they are very different looking rodents. :) Mary

A fine shot with excellent colors. I like the glistening eye and the facial details. I would prefer (if possible) to include just a bit more space in front of the nose.

Thanks Mike - took your advice and undid the crop which I agree was a little tight. :) Mary

What a neat profile, like it to show the details on this different rodent. They look pretty large and sound like they are a crafty critter. Very good focus and fame.

Thanks George, appreciate your feedback - reloaded as a few said I had cropped his nose a little too tightly. :) Mary

Impressive close up.
More breathing space instead of tight cropping on the front face renders a better image, my friend..
Subdued shaded capture.
A great initial impact. Nice interesting subject. Excellent POV & DOF...Harmonious colors. Impressive lighting, focusing & framing.
Thanks for sharing...

Thanks Dick - I undid the crop and reloaded I ummed and ahhed as to whether to crop that tight and should have listened to myself that said it was a little too tight have since had that reinforced by my wonderful reviewers :) Mary

Excellent close up of this pretty little animal watching her offspring escaping. Interesting notes with this. I like the dappled sunlight in the background creating patterns on the ground.

Lighting and focus very good. Very nice composition. Suzanne

She was probably rating them on their efforts to escape. They do have a slight mischievous look about them. Great color and details. You can see the tonal and texture differences in the fur, the huge whiskers and the bright, alert eye keeping a look out for the keepers. Thank you for sharing.
