"?from Los Angeles Zoo"? I thought they were native to Australia. No? Anyway sweet catch. Interesting play of light. Thanks for this, Cheers, James

Thaks James, no they are native to South America pretty well all countries there except Chile. They are the biggest rodent and the Patagonia Cavy Mara I posted the other day is 4th largest.

LOL! I haven't seen one of these before, he has a very rectangular face! Good photography, tonal balance and lighting. Thank you so much for sharing!

Never heard of this species, we learn something new every day on FAR 😄. He looks very relaxed and definitely ready for a nap. Nice composition, good tonality and colour palette with different shades of mud. Thanks for sharing.

What an interesting image, I can almost feel the mud and fur. Excellent composition, lighting and I like the monochromatic colors. Focus is perfect.

Looks like a fun mud bath. Probably feels good with our hot weather. Good frame, focus and a sunny day exposure.

Mary, all is well with this wonderful and full of life capybara. (I have a wallet made out of capybara from Argentina).

Where in heaven's name were you shooting from? Your POV is spectacular coming in eye level, you were on your tummy enjoying a mud bath as well?

It's an enjoyable photograph to come across and would do well in a BROWN contest. Sharp and well saturated. Are you still using A versus M? I ask because the shadow is almost a block up.

Welcome back....to the site.

Thanks so much Olga - I did get low down but outside there enclosure well out of the mud :) Haven't had much time to do photography as I have had a health scare and in and out of doctors and hospital. Get results in 2 weeks which hopefully will be more postive than those pre Xmas. So with that in mind I have been using A but once over nervous wait intend to get out and try M. Love photography as it can take you into another world away from any worries. Happy New Year to you if I have missed wishing it previously. Cheers Mary
