Looks like you might fall through if you walked out on that covered deck. Needs a little tlc alright. Nice photo of this old place in disrepair. Like views of old buildings that are run down. Nice find Mary and thanks for sharing it. It's kind of art work in its own way! haha

The sky -- with its strong diagonal lines against the lines of the roofs and chimneys is my favorite part of this shot. The verandah is a dark cove and not truly effective, as the detail of the danger gets lost in the dark.

I agree, it doesn't look safe at all, but it is a good object for a photo. Where the house and veranda looks pretty scruffy, the sky makes up for it. It is a truly lovely background and the roof tops with the chimneys are standing out well against it.

Your photo is also nice and sharp showing clear and well defined derails and also great textures. I also think the exposure is very good.

I feel the framing of this photo could have been better. Like having a bit more negative space on the right side since the veranda is the real center of interest in this photo. Still I appreciate that you did no want to include too much of the house in the background. It is an all together well taken photo and with a good DOF.
