Never thought about it, but you're right, sugar is a carb! This is a really good shot. The angle is different from other butterflies and your bokeh backgound makes a great foil for your details.

The swallowtail is as perfect captured as the flower he nipples on. I am impressed by the crisp capture of detail and the natural looking colors of the butterfly. The color of the flower is very intense. This intensity draws the eyes of the viewer away from the swallowtail. I think if the saturation of the flower would be slightly decreased the butterfly would be better emphasized.

I think this is my favorite photograph in your portfolio! It's focus is perfect... and the DOF is wonderful! The angle of the shot is great... with the leading line of the flower stem takes the viewer's eye right to the butterfly.
