Excellent angle and superb capture Mary! the leading lines of the almost naked trees are impressive.
It is sad to hear about the fires.
Your photo is truly awesome!
Fine camera work Girl!
I like the starkness as it fits the mood.
Well done!

Great shot of such a sad event. I have driven through areas like that and the impression lasts for a long time. You have captured the sadness of the event very well. Great job.

A very sad sight that I have seen here in Arizona too. You can only hope for some rain and Mother Nature will rebuild. Good focus, frame and a silhouetted view on the tall trees.

An awesome spectacle with the needles all gone from the pines. I like this stark presentation with dark tones and no color. Your perspective is outstanding and the impact is great.

Wonderful shot The super sharp detail and overall composition very compelling. There is one little white spot near the tree trunk. I'd clone that out. Great catch. Cheers, James.

B&W was the perfect medium for this pic. The pine in the front is so imposing. The pines behind that are like the imposing pines children and she's trying to protect them...
Subtle yet serious. Great pic!

Thanks Dick - this is actually in colour the black is created purely from the burnt trees. It was very sad to see the landscape so badly scarred from the fire I will post a couple more later. :) Mary

Mary, this is really full of visual impact showing the devastation of fire. Consider putting it into your local newspaper with a story of thanks to the firemen. I really like it for the patterns , the darkness and the point of view.

Thanks Nancy, appreciate your feedback. We were fortunate this year that no-one died there have been so many tragedies in years past.
