Very Degas like figure. She is softly outlined until you get to her show and then the outlines become sharp. This effect draws the viewer's glance downward in a very homogeneous way. There is great balance in the picture with everything enclosing the ballerina and her gesture.

Yes i can see the Degas reference clearly and you've used the softness within your approach to display a sensitivity and passion what one expects so much from the delicate art astray of ballet. Your palette is excellent and your control of tones brilliantly achieved

Interesting. The shoe is clearly the focus of this work. That said, I have enjoyed looking at this gentle work but could not quite put it into words until now. The soft lines blending into the softer background gives a dreamy quality to the picture. The white forms on the white sections of the background tends to make the viewer search for the form a little harder. The different colored browns in the background supports the redder tones of brown in the form causing an interesting overall support of the figure. Just a nice timeless rendition of a beautiful ballerina. Reasons for my six star vote.

Nicely done! It does look like the "Degas". Thank you for citing it. Others on this site do not seem to do that, which is a shame. Every artists uses previous art as inspiration.
If you look as Basquiat, whom was fairly ground breaking you will see evidence of Joan Miro, Dali and Kandinsky.
You have done a great job on the lighting and pose.
Nice work!

This is exceptional! I love the soft blending of colors to present a blurred effect. Well done on her body and face but the tying of her ballet shoe is perfect to give this a 6 star rating! Love it!
