Firetruck Speeding to a Fire

I really like you that you have show what I call backward speed and motion.
Instead of showing the main theme as moving in a blur, you have stopped
motion and show it clearly, thereby making all else appear to be a blur.
Very good (in my humble opinion)
Great color, great motion, and I'm sure there's a story behind
all this somewhere.
Thanks for sharing

I panned the fire truck to get the blur. Lucky to get it. Thanks

Hey Paula, I have to assert bluntly that I love your picture, as it possesses a kinetic feel judging from the blurry background, an utterly dramatic feel, and to top it off, a lively chromatic pallette in red, yellow & white, characteristic of fire engines. This one in particular appears to pertain to an earlier era, perhaps the 80's or late 70's. Adding to the latter, this amazing image is reminiscent of a tv show that I used to love when I was in my prime, called "Emergency", starring Randolph Mantooth & Kevin Tighe, who happened to be these two daring firefighters, who had to cope with fire related disasters on a regular basis. Thank you so much for presenting this, and GOD bless N.Y.C. & America the beautiful!
Best regards.
Pancho

I dont know u remember bur alot of americans were trying to ignore the vietnam war after it was over. Heck i remember being spit on and called baby killer by some..im so proud that these kids today r treated with way more respect that come back from overseas now..the clarity is great. The angle of the shot of the front part of the firetruck is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye interesting to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall..oh btw..did u know that a tv icon for so many years was awarded the bronze star in the heat of battle while savin fellow wounded comrades..his tv name was..Captain Kangaroo..wink

It's a huge shame how the Vietnam Veterans were treated and I remember quite well. I grew up in the military and always had respect for the soldiers. No one appreciates the sacrifice and how the war changes a person forever. Thanks

Truly an amazing take on your part.
Initial Impression /5
Feeling evoked: A true story in action
Creativity of presentation. /5
Color Harmony (Intentional & relative to photo and not technical error, or too much or too little) /5
Exposure (adjusting exposure time might create more crispness in contrast which would add to the raw grit of the photograph) /6 Outstanding action shot!!!
Center of Interest and Composition (Does the subject matter depict a single highlighted subject in a crowd, Positioning, symmetry, clutter, sparseness and cropping) /5
Lighting,(too much or too little, glare captured) /6 Perfection.
Composition
Summary: (overall feeling after taking into consideration the technical and artistic aspects, strength and weaknesses) I appreciate your artist notes. Your capture is showing much more than the simple story of a firetruck at work. Thanks for sharing.

I like this picture very much. The fire truck is in great focus against the perceived movement of the background. I took a class that taught me how to take this type of picture. I haven't given as much use as I needed too. Great technique. Thank you for sharing.

I need a course. I am a trial and error person. Mostly error!

What a great action shot, the way you have the fire truck leading into the frame. I have to agree the driver is intense in facial expression. Excellent job and very nice composition.

This entry should do well in the contest. The timing and the focal were perfect. The fire track and even its driver are shown crisp and perfectly clear in detail and color, but the rapid movement shows at the tires and in the background. Best luck for the contest!
