I completely agree. Sometimes the twisting and changing of things pales beside the simplicity of nature herself. This is a nice shot and a great thought - and thank you for making me think again.

It kind of makes me think of God, pulling up his beautiful blanket to cover his children for rest. The sun, traveling to other places, the ocean, lapping upon the shore to lull nature to sleep.

initial impact is very good. the colors of the changing sky are beautiful. all a sight to see over the beach and ocean. your image nicely fills the frame with sharp focus. nice job.

I am not sure I would call this one of nature's surprises, but I agree that it is a beautiful sunset. It is truly lovely colors to be seen in that sky with the strong pinks at the horizon and the silvery looking clouds. You do however need to straighten the photo a bit because the horizon is dipping a bit to the left.
I also think the palm trees in the foreground could have been even sharper and better defined. It is however a lovely light in this photo.
Personally I would probably have included a bit more foreground, but this is probably just me. All together a lovely and well taken photo, but in need of some adjustments when it comes to sharpness of the foreground. Still I wish you luck with the contest.

It is beautiful. I was recently in Hawaii and got to take many photos of a beautiful sunset. We got there early and was waiting for the sun to get to the horizon line and it was so peaceful. The sun moves quickly. Enough about me. I love the shade of pink by the horizon after the sun has gone down. The palm trees are a good addition as well.

I don't think there is anything more beautiful then sky and the sunset. I love the colours that it brings, and your right, it is always a surprise as to how it evolves. I think the title is very fitting because it is serene. Love your composition and thank you so much for sharing and good luck with the contest.
