Very cool. The angle of the shot of the building that looks like a sail is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Great eye and great job overall

Sometimes I think architects just draw things to see if builders can build them. Are they on something when they think of these things? or are they remembering childhood dreams?

Really nice shot.

It looks like a sailboat with a spinnaker full of wind. The exposure is excellent showing nice detail in the white as well as the base and water. Very nice cropping and a beautiful image of a strange building.

Just being able to see this hotel through you is so kool for me.

I love its architecture....the formation it provides; the angle it sits on.

You did an awesome job taking it from where you did.

Thanks for sharing.

I have a feeling that the architect has sailing in his blood. That was my first impression of this building. Very unique picture, and the way you have cropped it makes it perfect.

This is a well known landmark in Dubai, but also this time I think you need to straighten the horizon. The hotel shaped as a sail is however standing out really well against the great looking blue sky, and you have captured fine reflections in the water.

Your photo is also really sharp showing clear and well defined details in every part of this building, and the exposure is very good.

The cropping is neatly done and the building is well placed within the frame. A really well taken shot with an excellent DOF, and if you straighten the photo I will change my rating.

    thanks again ;
    sorry not to agree: the building and palm trees are perfectly vertical; the walkway is horizontal: the basis of the hotel is round, not linear; if I straighten, everything will tilt
reply by avmurray on 10-Mar-2015
    Yes, I know, but the sea isn't. Even the ripples in the sea are tilting to the right. I do however agree that the hotel will look like it is tilted if you straighten the photo, so I suppose it is almost impossible to get it all right.

Amazing shot! A prime example of ridiculous wealth and extravagance!
Aside from that, .....
Love the colors of the White building against the aqua blue water and graduating blues in the sky. Additionally, there is the reflection of those colors displayed in the windows that run up the left side of the building and the white reflection of the building in the foreground of the water. Excellent composition, angle of shot, colors, and positioning in the frame. The capture is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

That is beautiful. The sky is so dark blue and striking. The architecture of this building is innovative. You have captured it well. I see that there is a (walkway, bridge) to get to the hotel. It might have been interesting to see a bit more of that. Just a thought.

    the walkway is absolutely not interesting: it would be a distraction;
