This is wonderful the way you capture the reflection in the deer's eye is truly amazing I get the feeling the deer is looking in my direction & if I look long enough it will blink! The way you've drawn the fur is also beautiful & life like. Created with very skilful brushwork, choice blending & application of the colors. Thanks for sharing this image with us.

I think this is stunning. I thought it was a photograph when I saw it. Your work with proportions is perfection. But your work with your brushes is completely amazing in the reflection of the eye. The choice to lighten the texture of the fur on the head and around the eye was an excellent one. Your colors are completely natural and complimentary to each other. Nothing is out of synch. Good luck in this contest.

The detailing of the reflection in the eye is exemplary as the image shows a curvature and image that is quite lovely. The mixed colored hide is also interesting viewing and well done. I would have blended the background line more but it may just be personal taste. Excellent work and interesting viewing!

Stunningly glossy eye with the silhouette of what appears to be landscape and the sky with clouds.... hmmm, very creative. I personally love the brush strokes in the deer's coat, the color is nicely done. Good luck in the contest and thanks for sharing.

I love the idea of the deer's eye. The only problem I am having is that it does not jump out at me saying "I belong to a deer." I studied it for quite some time, but the eye could belong to almost anything, even though I cannot say to what exactly either. And because of those two issues, I am having a difficult time giving it a 5 star rating. The eye itself is telling us what it is looking at, which I am trying to figure out as well. I have too many unanswered questions about this piece of art. No matter how lovely, I am just having too many issues with it at the moment. I will try to look at it again in a week or so and see if I see something other than questions about it. Thank you for sharing.
