Wonderful drawing. This picture portrays just how intended. I feel really sorry for this little girl so the author has achieved her objective. She obviously has empathy for human being who are or have suffered. Pencil work is so good that it looks like a photograph.

I remember this sad little tale. It broke my heart when I first encountered it.

Your image is amazing. It looks so very real and captures the emotions of that child of so long ago.

Thank you for retelling this old Christmas story I nearly forgot. It must have been nearly 50 years ago the last time I heard it. That was so nice and the pencil drawing is amazing. I will refrain from commenting or critique. Everything has already said. 5 stars.

Another high quality drawing! I know the story and this drawing really brought it to life. Again, amazing technique, attention to detail. I love the drapery.. and the dramatic use of light. Reminds me of the Baroque art that plays on light against the subjects to create emotion. Wonderful! Thank you for sharing!

If I could give you six stars I would have. This is beautiful and the sad look on her face shows your talent. I am very sorry about your daughter. Please keep drawing! The Little Matchbook Girl was one of the saddest stories by the Grimm brothers. It can really make us all think. Blessings to you!

This is a beautiful picture and what a tragic story. You can really feel the emotion in the picture though. The detail in the face and hair is so fine I thought it was a photograph at first. Thanks for sharing.

I will speak honestly. This Image is nothing but a simple one,but amazingly the true beauty of nature is all about simplicity.Any story writer will be able to assume of enough emotions,to make himself believe and describe a life using enough emotions (words).I am not any writer, neither I deserve the honor to Judge, but a spell starts casting,I too can see a crystal clear sadness, a not giving up death, a charming cruel fate and a the last light that might get brighten up with honor to be the most faithful friend of an Angel.Once again best wishes for you heavenly thoughts,Blessed you are amazingly and you are one of the luckiest who believes in the simplicity of nature. Thanks for sharing a part of Heaven.

I love this picture of this little girl. Very detailed, great shading. However, this is an entry for cold? The notes are detailed and tell the story of this little girl, and that she dies because she had no heat. I get all of that, but she doesn't look like shes frozen just hungry and dirty.
I hope hour notes pass this photo into the category because it is very well done

Lulube, she isn't dead yet. She is burning her last match for light. It is after that that she dies.
