This is wonderful. Not only the art, but the story behind it. No one thinks about this story anymore. Great work. I love the expression on her face. She is so cold. Good luck - great one.

Marvelous adaption of the little character from the story. You have drawn her forlorn face with a sweetness that brings her to life. Beautiful folds and shadows. Terrific light shades. Her strands of hair surround her face perfectly. I stunning image. Good luck in the contest....Linda

A wonderful, beautiful drawing! Such a great but sad story and one I was not familiar with. Great entry for the contest. Oh if I only had your talent and could draw anything my mind could imagine. You are very gifted.

This is an amazingly executed art work. Love the story behind as well as it was my son's favorite story as earlier age. Tonal quality is great. Very detailed as well.

what emotion this piece has, even if the viewer didn't know that story behind it, you would be aware that there definitely was a tragic one. Beautiful details and the look on that little child's face is unforgettable.

I remember the story, that as much makes me tears. Very touching the facial expression and the snow on her dress. This is a story that not is so far of the true, because in the actual life unfortunately exists [persons? that not know the piety and exploit the childrens. This is the scene more crude and cold that I saw for this contest. Reach to soul. Good luck.

When I first glanced at this drawing, I thought to myself, what a beautiful but sad and disheveled child. Her body language and facial expression touched my heart immediately as she is trying to get some warmth from a single flame of a match. I read the heartbreaking story behind the drawing and connected the dots. That being said, this is a great drawing. It is so realistic looking but surreal. Her hair is amazing and looks soft with great highlights. Her eyes look so empty and hopeless. The shading and interplay of light and shadow is awesome. Tells a heartbreaking story and has a heart tugging visual impact. An emotionally filled and excellent contest entry. The best of luck to you. ~Alveria
