first off, the eyes draw you right in with the life of a toddler. she has such a beautiful little face. your proportions are good and the highlighting and shadows are good as well. it is amazing what can be accomplished with a pencil. nice job.

When I looked at this drawing, I could not stop looking at it. I felt mesmerized. I could not believe that it is a drawing. It is so perfect in every aspect that it looks just like a photograph. WOW....Awesome. This pencil drawing deserves nothing less than six stars. Good luck in the Voting Booth.

What a cutie! The subject is clearly defined and there are no details to distract from this sweetheart. I love the little bow lips and the big eyes of innocence.
You have captured her sweet personality well. Excellent technique and skills.
Good luck in the contest.

You have depicted this little cherub beautifully. So realistic, aesthetically pleasing with balance and harmony in her features. Such wide eyed innocence in her expression. You have put care and thought into the composition. Very sweet!

This is the problem of copying photos, the photo you have used was clearly was overexposed (a flash was used?) and then when you did the drawing your shading mimicked the over exposed areas. I'm assuming she has very dark eyes. When I did someone's eyes that were so dark I couldn't see the pupil and left it out, but when I was in art school I was instructed to make the pupil darker than the iris, even if I couldn't see it. When you lighten the iris just enough to make the pupil black the portrait it makes it more life like, not as flat. You did a beautiful job otherwise and she is very cute, this should be a top work in the competition! Good luck with it!

Thank you so much for your critique. I never went to art school, so I just draw things the way I want them to appear. I appreciate your suggestions, and I will take them to heart.
