Hi Mary Elizabeth. I see you have been a very busy girl of late and spiralling up the rankings in FAR. Good for you. I have been flat out moving house and tied up with other matters for the past year, so FAR has been completely ignored.....but with things getting back to normal, I'm getting back into photography once again. Anyway, hope you and yours are well.

I do like your shot, as usual it is well composed and framed. The lighting is really interesting, almost vintage, and I do like the story attached to this shot. Look forward to hearing from you. Terry

Another nicely capture unique sovereign hill image that is sharp in focus, has good clarity throughout, nice light use and well framed and presented in an antiqued finish. Peter

I think we need to bring back the 1800's standards again. I wonder how it would work to ban TV and cell phones at school and teach our children the basics along with good manners that you do not often see anymore. A good shot, tells your story well, focused and framed.

Thanks again George yes some more discipline wouldn't go astray not cane or dunce cap but respect for adults my 5 year old grandson calls his teacher by first name. Not meant to be your friend there to teach.

Pity you did not say where and when this photo was taken, since I can not decide if it is a real school or some reconstruction

I took half a star since the colors are yellow and very unnatural

Thanks for your feedback - it was taken at the Open Air and Historic park recreating the gold mining town of Sovereign Hill in Victoria Australia. The lighting was as shown as the school has a canvas roof creating the unnatural light featured.

What a great idea. Mary thank you for those artist's notes.

As far as the photograph goes I had to look twice at it for it seemed so bygone era yet it was so clear, then I read your notes and that cleared it up for me.

Very interesting, sharp image ......I have nothing but good things to say about it.....leave it alone.

I must admit that after reading your notes, kids in the U.S could benefit from such programs. Here, they get away with murder and nobody can touch them for fear of what the gov't will do to them.I really like this composition and all that you captured within the frame. The children look interested in their studies and the instructors look serious.Great job as far as the execution of the shot goes.I do so like the natural lighting.Thank you for sharing this one~

Thanks Angelheart, I agree with your comments the children seem to enjoy the experience and there is never a shortage of volunteers for this initiative.
