shame no six stars left but whoever you are this is a super fine and dramatic drawing. excellent in the way it comes across to the viewer and with such a brooding atmosphere to.

I must say you have captured what you set out to do, it is dramatic I love the way you have treated light and shade and to me the feeling it may just be a little cold or trying to prevent the wind from blowing out the flame. Well done.

"It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness". You have captured that theme most appropriately. Very expressive work. Like the idea that you did not show the eyes of the person - adds a little mystery to the work. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Chuck. The focus was the light, so I kept the person in low light.

The image is dramatic as if the subject had just conjured this flame by some magic in his fingers. I also like the expertise of showing less to deliver more. The chiaroscuro hands are excellent while the bare minimum of expression in the mouth and suggestion of tilt in the head program our minds to imagine the rest in an instant. Striking effects from a talented hand.

A very interesting drawing that creates a mood of wonder. The candle light is wonderful and you did a great job of playing the dark against the light. Well done.

Hey, thank you. Laying the dark pencil was arduous.

I love dramatic lighting with great contrast as well. You did a great job showing the dramatic lighting of a single candle. Great interplay of light and shadow. Great visual impact as well. ~Alveria

This is really well done and makes a compelling piece. The only area that I would look at again, is the nose. By making the bottom all you can see, it gives me a funny feeling. I think if we could see a little more of the face of the nose, it would not seem so disconnected
