This appeared at first to be a watercolor on textured paper, but I know you don't do (or haven't as of yet!) done watercolor. Extremely bright glow on the candle flame reflects nicely on the hands the one closer to the flame almost providing a mirror-like effect. A sepia hue/tone prevails except for the bright light in the night. Great contest entry, Linda! jean

Very interesting drawing, love the POV and composition and yes, the emotions this emits. The light, and shadows, the definition and yet the softness are really neat. I like it a lot! Good luck in the contest.

You definitely achieved the dramatic impact you were aiming for. Great imagination and creativity to this artwork. The single candle flame is well positioned to light up the partial face and hands.

Beautifully done drawing with the placement on the surface showing a large dark area above which gives the dimly lit face and hands a greater focus and spiritual feel. Your execution is expert and details very fine. Much luck in the contest with this one and thank you for sharing it.

Great concept. Well done. The partial face is intriguing. If I had one thing to suggest that you might change, it is the nose. (very difficult to draw, I am portrait artist) All in all very nice work
