I don't blame her, she is 'puffed up' to add air in between her feathers to keep warm. It is no lost detail that the snow melted on her feather's and refroze. AMAZING shot of the nest. I love Robins, any bird really, even nuisance ones. God's creatures fascinate me. This photo should be in a bird book. If I had 6 stars so would you!

Thank you for taking time to review and your encouraging comments! Sadly, she lost her eggs to a raiding red squirrel today. I appreciate the thought of six stars, however your comments are reward enough!

Poor Robin but what a good mama. Great shot with super focus and detail. Yesterday in TX it was 80 degrees and today it's 50. It's pretty late to have snow in Montana isn't it? It's been a strange year weather wise!

I have seen it snow on Memorial Day about three years ago. Tomorrow we are supposed to have temps in the mid 70's...go figure! Sadly, the robin lost her eggs today. A red squirrel raided her nest. I was just coming out the door and saw the robin a few branches away scolding the squirrel which was sitting in the nest.

Thanks for taking the time to view and comment!

Oh how very sad. Poor little robin. That makes me want to cry. Sorry you had to witness this.

Amazing what birds and animals will do to keep their species going forward. It does look well tucked in with the snow around it.

Good clear focus and nice sharp detail of the bird with sharp colours.

Excellent nature shot here and yes only a mother would do this to protect her babies. What a neat photo of her with the snow surrounding her on the nest. She had to be cold. I can see the water drops all over her as she protects and keeps her eggs warm. Some day she'll tell the chicks about all the hardships she had to endure to raise them! haha Great photo that really tells the story without words.

What a wonderful shot! Great images tell us a story, and the story here is the about dedication. The snow and the water droplets on the robin are wonderful.
Please keep us up to date on her attempt to save her egg(s).

Remarkable!

Oh my goodness, thank you for such an encouraging review and for the score of six stars! Today her nest in snow free. I'm sure the eggs are okay.

An excellent shot with great colors and fine exposure for the snow. I like the cropping and the great detail in her face and especially the water drops on her back.
