Nice job on this hummingbird. I have tried to draw these birds but never seem to do it justice. We don't see a lot of hummingbirds in the Chicago area. Good luck in the contest.

this image is just wonderful!! .....the soft colors....and that neutral colored background which emphasizes any other color....the blurry vegetation that seems to be painted....the composition....they are all great.....but what I really love is this color combination of pink and grey.....such a soft colored image and than bam....vivid color and great contrast on the bird...I love it!!

Oh lucky you! The one hummingbird in our area that I've not gotten a photo of. We get four different species hare and the Anna's is the elusive one for me. Excellent photo showing off that red head and green spotted breast. The eye shows up well and all details are sharp and clear. Neat that you got it resting on a perch. Excellent photo and thanks for sharing it. Maybe someday I'll get lucky and find one!

What a beautiful hummingbird! I have never seen one like this in our area of Oregon. The bright pinkish purple of the upper body is beautiful and really shows off his face and beak. The detail you've brought out in this little one is wonderful, especially the tiny feathers on his body. I love how this hummingbird is such a standout in in the muted tones of the greens around it.

Beautiful colours! I've never seen a humming bird up close! There is a ton of space up top that I may have cropped, but otherwise this is an inspiring capture! :) Love the subject and your choice to sharpen the image really makes an impact!

I used my Canon, 300mm lens. Settings, which are the most important, ISO 340 300mm f/5.6 1/400 sec

lol. Mine are more of the standard types but still always so enjoyable to watch and great subjects to photography. Outstanding details with excellent focus. Great point of focus with excellent play on dof. Your lighting and exposure are point on. Great visual and initial impact along with a thoughtful composition. Wonderful colors and color harmony.
