I love these Red hot Pokers! Great capture Mary on both the bird and these cool flowers. You have nice focus and clarity. A wee more light on the birds eye would make this better. Use your lasso tool, circle eye...lighten. Lightly use dodge tool on highlights if needed.

A beautiful picture of the Minor Bird perched on the stem of the Red Hot Poker Bloom so it can suck nectar from it's tube like florets. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting with superb camera techniques with sharp focus....Your winter looks like our Summer?

Thanks Susan, we are having a very mild winter and could use more rain. We had beautiful hot summer when we visited England, Ireland and Scotland in 2006. :) Mary

A beautiful shot in a gorgeous setting. I am not familiar with many of the birds you have in Australia, but suspect that this might be a "mynah" bird. In any event it is a beautiful shot with great colors.
