Interesting shot. Fine entry for the contest! I like the light and shadow which lend depth and interest to the shot. . The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good luck!

Great contest entry. Not only is the viewer looking out, but the cow is as well. This photograph displays a very interesting old fashioned store & glimpse of an inviting main street. The focus, composition, POV, are all very good. Nicely framed around the cow & window with the opportunity to feast on the penny candy & imagine a dish of ice cream by the window. mlp

I was so interested in this store I googled it to see where it was. Is it in West Pittston, PA? I was born in Pa. & spent my childhood there so there must have been a nostalgic component. :)

Yes, It is in West Pittston, Pa I live a few blocks away from this store. We are on the west side of the Susquehanna River. Don't confuse us with Pittston, Pa. Two different towns.

This is so cute and retro. The candy containers and the fountain chairs. If I hadn't read your notes I would have thought it was in a theme park. The light shining through the window is perfect. Are you sure it is not a theme park?

Such a lovely photo---I thought at first it was a painting. You captured the sunlight very well. Taking a photo from the inside toward sunlight can be very challenging but you succeeded! Beautiful colors and a welcoming atmosphere. I want to visit Ballyhoo!

I had a chuckle with your upload. It's so well taken full of great visual impact. You have included much for our eyes to devour and scan with the final focus being the cow! I would love going to this store. What a story!

Your post processing with Topaz Adjust is superb, good work. The image is so well balanced and not over cooked. It is sharp with good details showing up crisp and the tonal quality as well as the colour contrast are precise. This looks like a professional photo and if you gave it to the owners, I'm sure they would give you a free ice cream (at least I sure hope they would). It makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

Thank you for entering my contest.

Thank you. The light was just right at the time. I did ask the owners permission to take the photo and showed it to them on my camera. I did tell them I would make a mounted copy for them. They were very gracious about letting me photograph. They are a young couple just starting this business. I really did not have a photo until this evening but when I passed this place as I was running another errand I knew this place would be a good place to try and photograph.

A bit closer shot would have omitted the distracting foreground & capture the cows hind leg for a greater initial impact.
A great Entry for the contest theme.
Nice interesting subject.
Excellent POV & DOF...
Harmonious colors.
Impressive lighting, sharp focusing & improve framing.
Thanks for sharing...
Best of luck in the contest!

Oh I love this photo!!!! It is so nostalgic and reminds me of when I was a child. Things were so simple then. Wonderful composition and lighting on this delightful little ice cream shop. I wish I could walk in for a scoop. :)))
