I think you did a wonderful job on these. Nice depth and composition. Lovely sky with the subtle flock in the background. Nicely detailed wall work. Good luck to you and thanks for sharing!

    Thanks Barb.

This is a nicely detailed piece of art, The shading is smoothly done. The clearness of the sky with a touch of clouds and a couple of birds that are faintly visible add a touch of life to this still image. Nicely done.

Beautiful work, your have given them reverence with this work, these three Guardians are well placed and excellent in details , their grey stone color is perfectly defined and your little wall shows that even the huge rocks are coming from the Island. Interesting introduction as I am always curious

your painting creates a flow of calm, just resting and looking - beautiful use of space and perfect distribution, I love the textures from the canvas as it seems to give them a skin, well done, all the best for the cotnest

Very good composition, choice of colors and coherence in treatment of media. Problems in representing volume when sculpture is represented. I would change stone wall presented in front because it would look better without. Stone wall seems to add details that make sculptures look strange... well we know the size of these sculptures and even if that wall really exists there and proportions are correct it does not mean that we can present it... Concept of traditional painting forces us sometimes to change reality...

Thanks for your review and comments. It is odd how some liked the wall for scale and some did not. But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    Thanks again.

I do agree with that. Just follow your feeling.

The colours and presentation is so natural that at first I mistook this for a photograph! Lovely work. The subject is made more interesting by the notes. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the great review. I copied a pool photo for this image. I think the statues are all sizes best on the stones they used. The middle one must have been a bit smaller when carved.

    Thanks again!

A really good looking acrylic work and it features a highly interesting subject too!
These stone monoliths have many fascinating Occult associations ( Even a 'C'thulu-esque' one, which probably would please H.P. Lovecraft quite a lot! ) and your painting of this trio of them looks Great!

I'm not a traditional artist myself and truthfully I don't know much about traditional art, but your painting certainly looks very visually appealing. All the details look very carefully painted, and your composition is superb - it is obvious you've given much thought to it as everything is in perfect balance; I particularly love the point of view and how you placed your statues behind that stone wall. Despite your choice of using limited colors, your painting does not lack beauty; on the contrary, the choice of simple, natural colors contribute to a very natural effect. I honestly though it was a painting when it popped up in the little window at the bottom of my screen. :) Thanks for sharing your talent and the best of luck in the contest!
