Impressive capture of a Jackdaw Cara!
This is one bird I have yet to see in person. Excellent eye clarity, fine feather details and superb focus.
Fab bird photography!

A beautiful capture of the Jackdaw a crumb caught beneath it's foot, it's pale beady eyes fixed on the Crumb & it's bill posed to struck it. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting that with your superb camera techniques & sharp focus allows us to see the fine details of it's plumage.

Nice technical excellence! Center of interest is the black feathers on head and his beak. The birds coloring is dark with variations of grays, whites and good shadow and depth. Great capture of the bird trying to pick up the crumb and nice impact of his muscle tone in the feather. Nice sharp contrast, very nice job!

Beauty in simplicity through clarity, color (range), texsture, illusion of 3D (grey values and shadow on the ground). So many details that seems to be irrelevant
(spots on the ground) but fulfill the composition. Diversity within details through contrasts (eye, feather).

A beautiful shot with a great background for this bird. The exposure for the dark plumage is excellent and the details are outstanding. Best of luck in the contest.

I first came across a jackdaw in Ireland, and I loved the bird - it was so social, so curious and dauntless. I think you've captured this part of their nature well - always where the food is, fearlessly approaching the lens and the photographer behind it to claim it.
Your composition is great - the ground provided a unicolored, yet interestingly 'broken' background for your jackdaw to stand out. The sharpness of details is amazing - every feather, the claws clinging to the piece of bread, and the distinctively white eye, curiously focused on the food, are all clearly seen. The shadow under the bird adds interest. Great shot! :)
